M.Sc. Mathematics is a two year program consisting of 4 semesters & affiliated by Devi Ahilya Viswavidhyala , Indore and eligibility requirement is B.Sc.with relevant subjects with at least 50% marks for general category and 45% for reserved category candidates.

To produce graduate and post graduate qualified students who are equipped with insight and research skills in the field of mathematics.

The Department of Mathematics offers opportunities for the education in Mathematics at graduate (B.Sc.) and postgraduate(M.Sc.) level. The department also runs career counseling and carrier guidance courses for the students, which helpful in their placement and carrier opportunities .The Department has established itself as an excellent centre for teaching of pure mathematics. The students get the opportunity to attending seminars and lectures addressed by eminent mathematicians and get the knowledge about latest awareness in the subject .By organizing expert lectures and seminars/conferences for latest awareness in the subject for the students and faculties. The department has also been actively engaged in organizing conferences, workshops, QIP short term courses and training programmes for both teachers and students including Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme (MTTS) and Advanced Training in Mathematics (ATM) Schools.

The opportunities of the students are : Education as Teacher/lecturer /Research Scholar, Finance & Banking, Research Scientist (Mathematics),Astronomy and space exploration, Robotics, Cryptography, Industrial research and development, Research work in TIFR, IIT and other National Institutes, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization), DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization), NAL, aeronautical research (National Aeronautics Limited), SETS (the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security)

As per the guidelines of MP Higher Education, admission is through online registration. This is followed by direct entry through college level counselling- CLC (Online registration is compulsory for CLC).
