About the Department

The IPS Academy, College of Pharmacy was started in the academic session 1998-1999. Presently one UG and three PG programmes are run by the institute. The four-years (eight semesters) full time course leading to B. Pharm. degree is duly recognized by AICTE, New Delhi; PCI, New Delhi; DTE, MP Govt., Bhopal and is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal with an intake capacity of 100. The two years (Four semesters) postgraduate courses M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutics), M. Pharm. (Pharmacology), and M. Pharm. (Quality Assurance), are duly recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and are affiliated to RGPV, Bhopal with intake capacity of 18 students in each branch.  The institute is registered with CPCSEA, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India for Breeding of and Experiments on Animals and has systematically classified Medicinal Garden, Well Equipped Sophisticated Instrument and Industrial Pharmacy Laboratory.

Courses Offered

Undergraduate (B. Pharm.)

The candidate must have completed 10+2 examination with science stream by M.P. Board /CBSE or equivalence course by other State Board/University recognized equivalent by M.P. State Govt. with minimum 45% marks. The under graduate course in B. Pharm. is of eight semesters. Admissions are made by DTE, Bhopal, through counseling (Online off campus).

Undergraduate {(Lateral B. Pharm.) (Direct Second year)}

The candidate must have passed a regular two year diploma programme examination in pharmacy from an approved institution with minimum 45% marks. Admissions are made by DTE, Bhopal, through counseling (Online off campus).

Postgraduate (M. Pharm.):

Candidate must have secured minimum 50% marks in B. Pharm. Admissions are made by DTE, Bhopal on the basis of GPAT score. For non-GPAT candidates admissions are made on the basis of merit of B. Pharm. through counseling (Online off campus).

Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy):

Candidate must have passed M. Pharm. course. Preference shall be given to full time research scholar with AICTE / UGC/ any other scholarship.

A good education should be followed by prime placement. IPS Academy, College of Pharmacy has an independent Placement Cell devoted to cater to the needs of students. The institute has successfully place maximum of its students every year, with ever increasing compensation.

Partial list of companies who have recruited regularly our students for placements during the last few years includes Cipla Ltd., Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., IPCA Laboratories Ltd., Plethico Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Sun Pharmaceutical Ltd., Unichem Laboratories Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services, Nestle India Ltd., Abbott Healthcare Ltd., Allied Analytics LLP, Glenmark Generics, Mindlance Pvt. Ltd., etc. The IPS Academy, College of Pharmacy also has an Alumini Association of Pharmacy (AAP) which has a strong base of alumnus, which are placed worldwide and across all major sectors. This facilitates placements of newer batches with greater ease. Each alternate year, Alumini Meet is organized by the institute.


In last four years, four students of B. Pharm. received Chancellor Scholarship for their excellent academic performance in the semester results of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal. In addition, the college encourages students by rewarding the academic toppers and full attendance students every year.

Achievements of the department as well as students

Many students of the institute brought pride to college by their performance in various events. More than 40 students of B. Pharm. semester VIII qualified the National Level GPAT Entrance Examination in last five years. The Cricket and Volley ball Team of the institute has brought many laurels in various state as well as intercollegiate competitions. Many students as well as faculty members also secured top positions in intercollegiate singing and dancing competition organized by various Pharmacy institutes.

Research details

Institute boasts of many eminent faculty members, which posses to their credit numerous national and international publications in journal of good repute and various books. Many posters were presented by students of our institute in various conferences and seminars. The eminent faculty members also represent the institute in various national and international seminar/conferences as Resource person, Chairperson, Co-chairperson as well as members of various committees.



Many events are regularly organized by our institute which includes Foundation Day Celebration, National Pharmacy Week Celebration, Blood Donation Camp, Annual Women’s Meet, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, Staff Picnic, Dushera Celebration, Kite Festival, Gudi Padwa Celebration, Digital India Week, Sadbhavna Diwas, Annual Function, Teacher’s Day Celebration, Garba Celebration, Vigilance & Ekta Diwas, IPSA ICL Cricket Tournament, IPSA Pharma League, etc.
