Communication Services in India are poised for explosive growth.
According to a recent survey carried out by a Global Consultancy
and Research Firm "Gartner", the Cellular Communication segment
in India is growing at a compound annual growth rate (GAGR) of
18.4%, and the total earning, which was $ 8.95 billion in the
year 2006 would reach to $ 25.67 billion by the year 2011.
Cellular market penetration is also projected to increase from
12.7% in 2006 to 38.6% in 2011 and would cover 95% of the urban
and 58% of the rural population.
In the month of July 2007 itself, Bharti has placed an order of
$ 2 billion to Sweden's Ericsson for supplying 2G and 3G GSM
equipments and BSNL has also followed suit by placing a similar
order of $ 1.5 billions to Ericsson and Nokia. All this
translates in tremendous job opportunities to well qualified E&TC
Engineering graduates.
Besides the cellular communication field E &TC graduate have
ample job prospects in Defence, ISRO, Railways and Para military
Organizations, TV, FM and AM Radio Broadcasters, Software
Developers, Chip Designer Firms and in the field of Teaching and
Research, both in India and abroad.
