Academic:

	Department organized a two days National Seminar on “Role of Information Technology in Disaster Management” on 23rd- 24th February 2002, Chaired by Dr. P.B. Sharma, VC RGPV, Bhopal.
	Department started one year Certificate Course in Fireman-ship from session 2006-07 onwards at present.
	Department Organized a 2 days National Workshop on “Fire Protection & Industrial Safety” 10th- 11th September 2007 Chaired by Shri Surendra Singhjgi IPS Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) -  Fire Services, Govt. of M.P., Co-chaired by DIG Fire Service Govt. of M.P. Shri R.L. Borana.
	Department organized a two days National workshop on “Importance of Industrial Engineering in Safety Management” on 20th- 21st November 2009, Chaired by Dr. Piyush Trivedi V.C. RGPV, Bhopal and co- chaired by Dr. J. Maiti, Associate Professor, IIT Kharagpur.
	Department organized 7 days Faculty Development Programme on Lead Auditor Course OSHAS 18001 certificed by BSI (U.K.) in the month of September 2008.
	Department organizes celebration of National Safety day on every 4th of March since year 2003, Chaired by Commanding Officer, Indian Army, Mhow.

Consultancy:

Apart from successful teaching Department develop a consultancy cell. The functions of consultancy cell include-
	Preparation of Legal documentation on safety management system such as Safety Policy, Safety Manual, On-site Emergency Plan, Off-site Emergency Plan, Fire Audit Report, Risk Assessment Report and Safety Audit Report.
	Designing of fixed fire fighting installation such as Hydrant System, Sprinkler System, CO2 Flooding System, DCP Fixed Installation and Automatic Detection Systems in High Rise Buildings & Factory premises.
	Conducting short term training programme on Basic Fire Fighting, First Aid Paramedics, Material Handling, Electrical Fire Safety and use of Industrial gases in factory premises.Preparation of Legal documentation on safety management system such as Safety Policy, Safety Manual, On-siteEmergency Plan, Off-site Emergency Plan, Fire Audit Report, Risk Assessment Report and Safety Audit Report.
